Ahimsa Bean Curd Restaurant (Cameleon)

I'm sure most of us have come to a situation whereby we either feel like vegetarian food or we have friends who are vegetarian. Now, now, carnivores, hold your canines.

Ahimsa Bean Curd Restaurant, also known as Cameleon, was introduced to me by a vegetarian friend. Located near the Putra World Trade Centre, this restaurant serves dishes and a la carte food as well as lunch sets.
Assam Fish

The Assam fish was really, bean curd (of course!) and had chunks of okra, eggplant, pineapple and tomato. There was a wonderful balance of spice and acidity that went so well with the brown rice we chose to order.

We also had the Golden Mushrooms which were deep fried oyster mushrooms in a light cream sauce. This was reminiscent of "nai yao", also famously known as the deliciously fragrant sauce with curry leaves usually served with prawn or crab which makes diners all over the world salivating for more. Suffice to say, we enjoyed this dish very much.

Golden Mushrooms

We completed the meal with some stir-fried vegetables (gotta have them green fibres!). The three dishes with brown rice, and a drink each for the three of us came up to about RM 20 per person.
